| The end result of a hard three days' work, acquiring the match accredition, watching both teams train, watching the match live at the stadium to eventually writing the report and rewatching the whole match on Channel 5's delayed telecast to clear certain details. I present, my biggest Singapore football match report yet (or ever): Selecao Put Three Past Gutsy Singapore More updates on my recent Samba Fever to come soon. |
![]() While I am still recovering from the Samba madness that has struck this Lion City over the past week, I am still able to take time off to ponder about the importance of certain things, and one of them is definitely speaking proper English. While I don't really advocate Your Royal Highness sort of English in my speech, I always make it a point to make myself understandable to those around me. In my definition, proper English equates understandable English. You see, we are all Singaporeans and we have not been under British rule for just over four decades now, so it is really almost impossible to see Singaporeans out there speaking standard English casually. But however, I find it funny that Singaporeans have been learning English since primary school, some even from their little playschool lessons and PAP kindergarten classes, yet there are those people who still don't know how to use English properly, even when they somehow manage reach tertiary level of education. I become lost at the point where they managed to go all the way with such atrocious English. I don't mind Singlish. I use it too in daily life. But when the overuse of Singlish completely kills one's understanding, it really calls for some concern. I can't begin to stress how important it is to make your English understandable to those you are talking to, because there may be misunderstandings caused by the wrong use of English. How will we be able to survive as a global nation, when nobody out there understands our English? Like I said, proper English equates understandable English. |
![]() the past week has been really crazy. so many things to do, matches to attend, reports to write, so many people to meet, so many things to see and lots of eye-openers. and yet the best thing to come out of the entire week is you. ![]() i finally got to step onto the pitch of the national stadium, yesterday before the singapore selection began their training session, and managed to take the pictures above. today, i managed much more than that. more pictures when i receive them tomorrow night. a longer update later on in the morning, after i'm done with my singapore selection vs brazil olympic team report. if you see this, remind me to write it okay? :P |

![]() there are people out there in the world who say one thing and mean another there are people out there who are so adamant and persistent of their beliefs, believing that one day they will succeed but guess what, you don't win all the time just like in a football once your opponent puts the ball in your net, if you don't score, you lose, no matter how much you try not to let in another goal in an entire season, if you don't win matches often, you won't finish on top of anyone, just right at the bottom and either just manage to scrape through or be relegated to a lower division but certain things aren't like football certain things won't continue to renew themselves like how everyone begins on level terms again every new football season certain things you just can't win even if you continue to persist because certain things aren't meant to be shared by everyone some people just don't get it |
2) buy match ticket for myles 3) attend singapore selection vs brazil olympic team match 4) type match report as soon as i get home |
| i've got a serious problem with people who think that a measly amount of money is good enough for big things. and it's not as if they had to pay. they join and then they back out citing bad management. poor, poor ethics. |
